  1. Okay, I’ll admit it—I wasn’t paying much attention to Astro Bot before, but after reading this, I think I might have been missing out! The way you describe the charm, gameplay, and overall experience really makes it sound like a must-play. I love that it’s not just another platformer but something that actually pushes creativity on the PS5. Do you think this could be the start of Astro getting a full-fledged franchise treatment, or will Sony keep him in the “tech demo” space? Either way, I’m definitely intrigued now. Thanks for the great breakdown!

    • Thanks, Bob! With the great success this game has bagged in, I wouldn’t be surprised if the little guy gets the franchise treatment! As long as they don’t change much about what made it so great, I think Sony can expect consistent wins. If they take this route, let’s hope they don’t fall into the same traps that franchises like Sonic have – being a Sonic fan in the 2010s was interesting to say the least… 🥲

The thing is, I’ve always wondered why Quantic Dream never made a sequel to Detroit: Become Human; their Kara tech demo led them to create an experience that took gamers by storm, but just left them wanting more!
